Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has told Edo voters that Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State does not deserve their votes in the state gubernatorial election slated for this Saturday.

The former Lagos state Governor also called on Edo State voters to reject Governor Godwin Obaseki, who is the incumbent and also the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Saturday’s election.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu disclosed this in a sponsored program on Television Continental(TVC) on Tuesday.

The All Progressives Congress National Leader disclosed that: “He (Obaseki) does not deserve any democratic ballot paper. Don’t vote for him, I appeal to all of you.”

Jagaban, as Tinubu is also called said that when he was fighting the democratic battle against the military in the 1990s, Obaseki was nowhere to be found hence the Edo state Governor’s inability to appreciate democratic institutions.

Tinubu and Obaseki

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu said: “I want to appeal to you to reject Godwin Obaseki in this coming election. I have suffered with many others to bring about this democratic regime, that today, we are enjoying in the country. Then, Godwin Obaseki didn’t participate in any aspect of the struggle to enshrine democracy in the country.

“Therefore, he could not understand the value and the pains associated with this democratic struggle,” Asiwaju submitted.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu also accused Governor Obaseki of causing the violence in the Edo state House Assembly, as the Governor prevented fourteen of the twenty four elected members of the state’s House of Assembly from being inaugurated.

Tinubu also revealed that Governor Godwin Obaseki also ignored the advice of the National Assembly and the Attorney-General of the Federation to allow the fourteen members of the House of Assembly be inaugurated.

Tinubu also said that in order to prevent these elected members of the state’s House of Assembly from being sworn-in, the People’s Democratic party candidate and the incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki supervised the destruction of the House of Assembly complex.

Therefore, Tinubu appealed to the people of Edo State to ensure that the governor pays for the troubles in the state’s House of Assembly by rejecting him in the Saturday’s election.

Governor Godwin Obaseki is the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, and his main opposition is Pastor Osagie ize-iyamu of the All Progressives Congress.
